How does becoming a Rascal change children's lives?

Having the chance to meet one of their idols, battling them in an exciting and hilarious game improves the child's self-esteem as they connect with someone they look up to and aspire to be. Having an influential figure truly believe in them, not only acts to reduce youth suicide, but boost children's self-confidence to chase their dreams. Featuring in an episode with celebrities also changes the light in which other children at school view those with special needs, which in turn reduces the bullying.

STAGE 1 NOMINATION

The nomination form finds out not only the child’s special needs and the current bullying being experienced but also their dreams, aspirations, and what makes them tick.

Stage2 image.png

STAGE 2 VETTING

All requests are vetted to ensure that we act within ACNC regulations. ICANIWILL can assist only those students with special needs that are being bullied or deemed to be at risk.

Stage3 image.png

STAGE 3 APPROVAL

Once approved, the ICANIWILL team create an online profile for each child, advertising flyers, and personal marketing and fundraising strategies for each family.

Stage4 image.png

STAGE 4 FUNDRAISING

Families receive a Parent Pack giving them the tools to empower their community to stand behind having their child featured in an episode. ICANIWILL, the family and the community fundraise to make this a reality.

Stage5 image.png

STAGE 5 CELEBS

Engaging famous ambassadors and celebs are integral. They represent what is cool to school children and who they look up to and respect. They also act to share the episode to the greatest reach of people for awareness.

Stage6 image.png

STAGE 6 THE SURPRISE

FUndraising and organising each episode can take between 1 to 11 months from nomination to featuring, we ask that all details be kept secret from the child. ICANIWILL then has a very special way of surprising the child of their experience.

Stage7 image.png

STAGE 7 IN PROGRESS

Each episode is shot over 1-3 days depending on the feature. There can be 14+ parties involved and 60+ individuals, from accommodation to dining, ambassadors, celebs, media, staff, volunteers, photographers & videographers.

Stage8 image.png

STAGE 8 GRANTED

All Rascals become ICANIWILL Ambassadors and get opportunities to speak at events and become role models within their school, advocating against bullying by standing up for other students in a similar situation..

Stage9 image.png

STAGE 9 THE SCHOOL

It is important that we have a good relationship with the school to take the edited videotape of the Celeb vs Rascal episode to present at show’n’tell to change the way the child is viewed by their peers, to stop the bullying.

Stage10 image.png

STAGE 10 COMMITMENT

ICANIWILL asks that each Rascal stays in contact at least once a month so that the team can assist the child with their longer term development, building resilience, their confidence & self-esteem.

Portia's Wish — Performing with SketchShe

Portia is a 9 year old student who was being bullied because of autism and had been subject to a very unfortunate home environment that no little girl should see. I Can I Will stepped in to change the way she saw herself, the world and the way she was perceived at school. Portia had no idea what she was doing at the Brisbane airport with I Can I Will when they arranged for her to be flown to Sydney to meet Sketchshe and to perform on set with them. She was so surprised and excited because this was also her first plane trip. Portia got a full makeover and styling session with Sketchshe’s team and was able to keep her outfit afterwards.

Bronte's Wish — Brisbane Roar Soccer Team

Bronte is a grade 3 student at Ormiston State School who was being bullied because of her down syndrome. I Can I Will stepped in to give Bronte and her brother a chance to be part of the winning team and change the way their peers saw them. This was a surprise for Bronte and was announced at their school assembly in front of all the other students. It was an amazing experience for Bronte, her family and the I Can I Will Crew as she followed the Brisbane Roar Team out on the field to flip the coin at the beginning of the game. She was a star!

Lewis' Wish - Supercars with Shammi

Bullied due to his special needs, Lewis's wish was to go around a race track in a supercar. No young boy should be bullied due to being Autistic, so we got 3 time reining V8 Ute Champion and ICANIWILL Ambassador Ryal Harris to take him around the race track in 4 supercars: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes and Porsche. As Lewis also wishes to one day have his very own YouTube Channel we got Shammi to grant this very special wish.
